YAG Laser Texturing System For Dulling Cold Mill Work Rolls Introduction Shot blasting, electro discharge texturing, and CO2 Laser-texturing are various techniques used for dulling cold mill work rolls. Large scale mills in the U.S.,Germany, Japan, and various other countries use these methods currently. However, these methods have several drawbacks including expensive equipment, lack of adequate control, and short service lives.
Our Technology We have developed YAG laser textured machines for dulling cold mill work rolls. In the laser texturing process, laser pulses at very high repetition rates produce innumerable microcraters with the required shape profile on the surface of the rolls.The laser textured rolls have a much longer service life than shot-blasted ones. They can increase the speed of the rolling sheet, reduce the galling on the sheet surface, and prevent adhesion during annealing.
Benefits of this Technology Laser textured sheets or strips have many advantages including: good ductility, excellent shape formability in deep drawing, high image clarity after painting, good adhesion of chemical coating, and excellent anticorrosion.
