Introduction

When managing an aquatic farm, it is necessary to safeguard against several adverse affects which may endanger the farm. The ability of ammonia to enter cells increases with pH and temperature.As the ammonia levels concentrate in cells, they become toxic to the organism. Also, waste chemicals such as hydrogen sulfide can devastate an aquatic environment if the levels become toxic.

Even aquatic life forms such as plankton can endanger freshwater environments. When their levels become too high, all of the precious nutrients in the water willbe depleted leading to death of other species and possibly the entire freshwater environment.
