Solar/Waste Heat Absorption Chiller Technology Cooling Units Powerd By the Sun/Waste Heat Introduction To date, solar air conditioning systems are built mainly using single-stage LiBr absorption chillers which require heat source temperatures of about 90-95 C (Chilled water 9 C, cooling water 31 C).Expensive glass to metal vacuum tubes or other high grade solar collectors are needed to create this temperature. To solve this problem, a new type of Li-Br dual stage absorption chiller has been invented and developed. Our Technology Under chilled water at 9 C and cooling water at 32 C, our chiller can operate steadily on low grade heat source temperatures ranging from 80 C to 65 C with a usable temperature drop of 10-17 C (versus 6-8 C for single-stage ones), i.e. this invention can work well even under severe thermal conditions.
