Pulsed High Power Supply Good for High Power Laser sources Introduction The compensated pulsed alternator (CPA) is one of the newest rotating machines, having been invented as a pulse power supply in the end of the 1970's. It is used for electromagnetic launchers and high power solid-state lasers.It can provide over a megawatt scale pulsed power to a load in the microsecond to millisecond range. There are weaknesses in the CPA's presently available, due to the low current gain, low energy gain, and the low pulse repetitive rates.
Our Technology A new 10 Megawatt CPA has been invented based on the cascade idea. The cascade CPA is compacted and self-excited.It has reached 103-104 current gain, with as large as 104 energy gain and power gain. The amplitude and frequency of the output pulsed current can be regulated conveniently.
