New Geochemical Method for Oil Exploration Increases the Likelihood of Finding Oil Deposits Introduction Based on 30 years of research, and the cumulative experience of thousands of man hours in exploration, Chinese scientists have developed a unique method of Helium, Argon, and Hydrocarbon Geochemistry Exploration for oil and gas resources.The method has been tested at the shengli oil basin in China with a success rate of 70%.
Our Technology Our method relies on analysis of the relative abundance of He and the ratio of 40Ar/36Ar in the soil.The soil samples, taken from within 2 meters of the surface, give a reliable reading of the oil and gas resources underneath.Helium in soil gas has been used for over twenty years as a geochemical exploration tool. The application of argon isotope is very new and unused. Benefits of this Technology According to working experience in China it is estimated that this new invention would have a broad market appealsince the time and cost for exploration is lower than that of using the seismological method.
