A New Microporous Polypropylene Film For Plastics and Fiber Industries Introduction In the 1970's, the importance of microporous materials became well recognized, and people started to prepare polypropylene microporous films by using different stretching methods.However, the techniques that were used and are being used today result in low porosity and permeation to gases and liquids and films with poor properties.
Our Technology Our invention is a new polypropylene microporous film that is prepared by means of biaxially stretching uniform polypropylene films of high b-crystal content.The film is characterized by having high porosity and permeation to gases and liquids, uniform pore size distribution, and good mechanical properties.
Benefits of this Technology Our invention can be used as substrates for gas separation and reverse osmosis membranes, medicalfunctional materials like sterile packages or tents, battery separators, gas permeable water proofing packages, etc.
