Introduction

Mono-station Lightning Detection and Ranging system (M-LDARS) is high-tech equipment based on ranging technology using phase and time difference of the electromagnetic waves from the lightning. It is the most advanced mono-station lightning detection and warning system in the world.

Our Technology

Within a radius of 250 km, it can automatically and continuously detect the position, distance, density and polarity of the lightning between the cloud and the ground. It can also measure the position and occurrence of lightning between clouds within a range of 60 km. The angular resolution for positioning is 1 1.0 degree, and the distance resolution is less than 1 km.

Applications for this Technology

The LDARS system provides valuable information to aviation & sea-faring navigation and regional transportation authorities. It provides a basis for a warning service for aviation & shipping.
