New PSA Method for Increased Hydrogen Recovery from Ammonia Synthesis For Reduced Impurities in Recovered Hydrogen Introduction Hydrogen recovery is a by-product of ammonia synthesis in fertilizer factories. The common methods for the recovery are: palladium membrane diffusion, Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA), separation at lowtemperature and hollow fabric membrane osmosis. Considering the technology and its economic value, PSA was the most widely used in the industry. However, the PSA method had a few problems.For example, the equipment was complicated, the gas needed treatment in advance, and it had a low rate of hydrogen recovery. Our Technology Our invention provides a new PSA technology using carbon sieve sorbent to overcome these defects mentioned above.
