An Affinity Membrane Cartridge for Endotoxin Removal Introduction Many methods have been reported for removing or reducing the level of endotoxins in fluids. The chemical decomposition of pyrogen with acid, alkali, or an oxidizing agent is commonly practiced in sterilizing the system.
Our Technology We have pioneered a method for the removal of endotoxins from aqueous solutions as well as protein solutions with low concentration.This technique which combines the high selectivity of affinity and the large scale of membrane processing has proven to be a convenient and efficient tool for the purification of important products for biological engineering. Features Of the Technology In this invention, a new cartridge shell was designed and implemented. This cartridge contains an adjustable cover from which membrane bundling with different thickness can be adopted in the same cartridge, allowingthe capacity for membrane media to be adjustable so as to meet different demands.Using the above cartridge shell, the affinity membrane cartridges containing 20 to 80 sheets of affinity membrane were prepared and used for the removal of endotoxins.
