Various gene transfer techniques were developed in the 70's and 80's, producing some new or advanced plant varieties.But these techniques demand difficult target cell pretreatment, and the gene transfer efficiency is limited. There is also the possibility of harmful side-effects on the cell. Our Technology The invention applies the patented low energy ion beam to etch the pre-cooled plant or animal cells. In the vacuum room of the conventional ion beam instrument, cells cannot survive. Our cell survival rate is 80% and above.
