Our Smart Card Multi-Function Electronic Kilowatt-Hour Meter is a new high-tech measurement device for the electric utilities. It uses the advanced microelectronics technology together with Surface Mount Technology (SMT), and has multi-function capabilities including, through the smart card, the ability to operate the meter on a pre-paid basis.

2. Smart Card: unique to each meter, not interchangeable. Smart Card uses DES encryption for security. Unauthorized Cards will cause the meter to display "EC". Authorized Cards may be used repeatedly.

3. Overage Alarm: When the customer has an overloaded circuit, the meter will display "EP" and will stop providing electricity. When the load gets back down to normal range, the meter resumes delivery.

4. Reminder Signal: When the remaining usage reaches below 10 kw.h, the meter will emit a 5-sec reminder beeper tone for each 1 kw.h used, until it reaches 0 kw.h.

5. Power Cut Control: When the remaining usage has reached 0 kw.h, the meter ceases to supply electricity. Upon inserting the Smart Card, the meter allows the user a reserve 10 kw.h usage so that the user may top off the smart card at the nearest convenience service station. The meter displays "EE" during this grace period. At the end of the grace period, the meter ceases to operate.

Upon topping off on the Smart Card, the user inserts it into the meter, and the meter automatically deducts the excess usage and resumes normal operation.

6. Usage Check: User may inspect the current usage by inserting the smart card into the meter. The meter will first show the total purchased usage (blinking display), and then show the remaining usage in a steady display.

7. Lightning Protection: Is protected against lightning surge.

8. Long tern storage: After power cut-off, the meter retains the last usage numbers for up to 10 years.

9. Delayed Power Resumption: After any sudden power cut-off, the meter will resume power supply only after a 3 minute hiatus, in order to protect household appliance against damage.

10. Theft prevention capability.
