Extracellular Polysaccharide For use in the Textiles Industry Introduction Extracellular polysaccharides(ECPS) are widely used in the oil, printing and dyeing , papermaking, and pesticide industries. They serve the function of coating and preserving material.
Our Technology We have developed a new extracellular polysaccharide with significant benefits over the current ECPSs. Our ECPS is an exopolysaccharidesuccinoglycan derived from an Agrobacterium. It consists of D-glucose (69.1%), D-galactose (8.6%), pyruvic acid (9.5%) and succinic acid (10.8%).
Features of Our technology Our ECPS has more advantages in terms of rheological properties than any others reported worldwide. Besides having pseudoplastic rheological propertiesand excellent pH stability, it is compatible with cationic dyes without the precipitation factor.Unlike other microbial polysaccharides, the viscosity of the polymer keeps constant below 65 C, and decreases sharply in a narrow range of temperature between 70-75 C.
